The Hyacinth

The Hyacinth Oct/Nov ‘13
Before I headed home to Devon for the summer, I set out to find a gardening centre in London- the closest one was in Camden (I know!). When I found it, I picked a handful of hyacinth bulbs and stored them in a dark cupboard over summer. I put this hyacinth bulb over water the day I moved into my new flat, and placed it on my lovely little window sill (which is rapidly becoming a small plant nursery). I’ve enjoyed seeing the plant's root system progress as I put down roots into my  own new home.

Today, I can see the first peep of the green leaves emerging from the head of the bulb.

Hello!

I think I should tell you; I'm very excited about this. I've attempted blogging before- but my main concerns at the time were dying my hair, hating school and snogging boys. Oh I just felt a pang of nostalgia for 2007!

But I'm 22 now, I've worked, I've played, and I've found lots of interests and curiosities along the way. This blog should document the things I want documented, I suppose? I'll work it out as I go.

Welcome! Please be kind to me, I'm new at this...
